Soothe dry or sunburnt skin with this super effective DIY Beauty Recipe Featuring Fresh Aloe Vera, Organic Lemon, Lavender Essential Oils and Rain Lillie Organic Castor Oil.
It's no secret that none of us like a sunburn, let alone the peeling that takes place after a really bad one. To heal sore, red skin, and to prevent any of that mentioned peeling, put together this DIY Soothing Skin Recipe after a long day in the hot sun.
With cooling aloe vera, botanical lavender essential oils and freshening lemon juice, the mixture is also great as a hydrating serum for very dry skin. The aloe vera together with the castor oil in this recipe will penetrate into your skin to restore hydration and prevent further moisture loss.
By itself all the ingredients do its job to serve as various natural remedies — the secret to soothing dry skin though is using them all at once, only using fresh and organic ingredients and leaving it on as a mask.
In a food processor combine:
The gel of 1 small aloe vera leaf
2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed organic lemon juice
2 drops of lavender essential oil
5 pumps of Rain Lillie Castor Oil
Blitz this mixture until smooth, then transfer it to a bowl and let it chill for 20 minutes in the refrigerator.
Apply generously to your skin wherever you are experiencing dry or sunburnt skin. Let it sit on your skin for up to one hour, then rinse with cool water. Repeat this several times during the day for continual relief.
Once your skin gets back into balance, continue to protect it against loss of moisture by applying your favorite natural moisturizer twice a day.
